Bone pain, a common pain in elderly people

Bone pain is one of the most common pains among the elderly people. It is not a bad idea to know that this complication is not an abnormal pain. Patients usually refer to this problem, but they do not include a specific symptom, so that a wide range of diagnosis is possible in this case.  For a physician, a detailed description of what exactly patient is suffering from as “bone pain”, is of a great importance. This information also includes the duration of which patient has endured the pain and the probable reasons behind it.

This complication can have a variety of causes and as it is obvious, there is a reason behind all pains in the body.

Bone damages

Damages and injuries to the bone is the first and the most common reason for bone pai nin many people.  These damages can happen due to falling down, accidents or any other occurrence that can injure bones.

Deficiency of vitamins and minerals in body

Studies and researches suggest that those who are suffering from this complication should be monitored for deficiency of vitamin D, regularly. Researches in university of Minnesota show that 93 percent of all people with bone pain had vitamin D deficiencies. The deficiency of this vitamin is also known as one of the reasons behind this problem in adults’ feet.  Having a proper diet and using supplements containing vitamin D and other minerals is essential for body and the strength of bones.

Cancer and Bone infectious diseases

There are many known diseases which can affect bone tissues after a while and cause them damages. Recently scientists have concluded that cancers at different organs, such as breast or lungs, can penetrate bones and affect them after some times.

What are the symptoms of bone pain?

Obviously those who are suffering from complications in their bones, feel it in the form of pain at the place of affected area. In addition to pain, other symptoms can also be linked to this complication which in time of occurrence, individual should visit the specialist and begin the treatment. Some of these symptoms are listed as below:

  • Fatigue and tiredness
  • Noisy joints
  • Disrupted sleep schedule
  • Paleness
  • Bruising, swelling or redness in the tissues of adjacent organs close to bones
  • Weight loss

 

Is there any way to prevent the Bone pain?

Fortunately, people at all ages can protect themselves against dangerous diseases only by observing key points. Severe bone pain can be breathtaking for individuals. Solutions such as having a healthy diet, which includes vitamin D and Calcium, as well as other necessary vitamins for bone tissues, can significantly help in preventing this problem.

Meanwhile, avoiding alcoholic beverages, which all can have a significant contribution in disturbing body’s natural balance, can have direct influence on the health of body bones.

At the end we have to mention once more that exercising can solve this complication, which is a common problem in adults and elderly people. Exercising, especially walking, can play an important role in the overall body health, especially in the bones.

Bone pain is one of the most painful complications that many people all around the world suffer from it. Many causes can trigger this pain and with simple treatments, such as a healthy diet, it can be cured. Constant bone pain requires urgent medical attention as sometimes it can be a symptom of another important disease.
