Due to this condition, parts of skin which are covering head may be affected less but rashes can be developed behind ears and eyelids can become bloated, red and itchy.
Eczema treatments
- Special skin care is the key for treating eczema. In case of minor eczema, individuals can treat it fast by some minor changes in their daily routines. For severe cases, patient needs to take medicine.
- Proper soaps and skin moisturizers
- Use a mild soap Or a soap substitute that does not dry your skin. It is also better to use a proper moisturize, in the form of cream, lotion or ointment to take care of your skin.
- Short showers with warm water: Showers with hot water is not recommended for this disease since it can dry your skin and the heat can affect rashes and make them worse. Individuals should avoid any type of tension on the affected parts of the skin.
- Stress controlling: It is better to exercise regularly and spend some times for relaxing. Being surrounded by friends, laughs and happiness along with listening to music, meditation and praying as well as having hobbies can reduce your stress.
- Adjust humidity of your home.
Medication & drugs
In severe cases, your doctor may prescribe you some anti-eczema medications in order to control the situation.
- Hydrocortisone: the ointment version of this drug can be useful for treating mild cases of this condition. If you are suffering from severe eczema you may have to take higher doses of this medicine.
- Antihistamines
- Corticosteroids
- If the aforementioned treatments do not work properly, your doctor may prescribe you medications that can increase your immune system performance, such as azathioprine, cyclosporine or methotrexate.
